Discovery Days Preschool’s classroom is an intentionally structured space that allows the children to enhance their learning through self-directed play and discovery. We believe each child is uniquely different and should be encouraged at their own speed. Through daily play, experimentation, and exploration, our students develop skills related to problem-solving, abstract thought, language, critical thinking, and socialization based on the Early Childhood Indicators of Progress (ECIPS) from the Minnesota Department of Education.

At Discovery Days Preschool, we also place great importance on exploring the natural world and learning from it. We will regularly use our surrounding outdoor environment as a learning space. We will expose the children to naturally occurring and physically stimulating learning opportunities during this time. We believe that developing a relationship with nature at a young age is essential to a child’s development and helps them to appreciate and care for the Earth into adulthood.
